Takeaways from the Last Day of Intrasquad Scrimmage
Since I did not go to the UNO scrimmages, for all intents and purposes, those will not count. I also couldn't go to the second ULL scrimmage, so only 25% of the Fall scrimmages counts. LSU was able to power their way past ULL with a final score of 8-6 after 8 innings in the noon scrimmage. My first takeaway is that Tre Morgan is way too good at 1st base to change positions. In high school Tre Morgan also played outfield and some people are saying that he doesn't have the right body type of a 1st basemen. Those people are wrong. So Tre may not be 6'5 225 lbs, but can play the position better than anyone else and I wouldn't sacrifice putting him in the outfield just because he may be smaller than the average 1st baseman. Next is that our catcher problem is gone. Last year Hayden Travinski got injured and LSU scrambled to split time among Doughty, Wyeth, and eventually landed on Alex Milazzo.
